meme – with a twist

14 Nov

do you ever get the giggles when you find out someone has you in their blogroll? i do. i’m not very good at this blogging thing and i’ve only been doing it consistently for a few months. i haven’t made a blogroll yet and i apologize for that. i would feel badly if i left someone out and i have to figure out how to do it. i also need to figure out how to post buttons in my sidebar, ’cause every time i’ve tried that i’ve ended up running around the block naked and screaming from frustration.

well, i found out that abadmommy reads my blog (blush.) she’s from south africa. how cool is that?!? and gina, who won my giveaway, is from singapore!!

anyhoo – abadmommy linked to me for a meme. her post included information about memes from wikipedia and i was surprised to see so much written about a simple meme (which is pronounced meem…i always thought it was me – me.)

-did you know that there are meme-theorists?

-richard dawkins coined the term meme as the cultural equivalent of a gene (hence the pronunciation, i’m sure.)

-memetics (i know! it has it’s own -etics!) goes far beyond blogging and here i thought it was a relatively new thing.

enough smartness. here goes:

So we’re all about mutation and propagation here, people. As we’ve all already subdivided and had kids, let’s mutate! Add yours to the list.

1. Real Moms don’t flinch when they talk about boobs. They do make you laugh your brains out.
2. Real moms go on vacation. Real moms go on vacation and learn to play traffic cop.
3. Real moms brag about their kids.
4. Real moms do not mince words when they present the truth.
5. Real moms juggle.
6. Real moms “resist the guilt and embrace the journey”
7. Real moms don’t give a damn to media generated Mommy Wars
8. Real moms have kids with potty mouths.
and mine:
9. Real moms giggle.

The rules:

Copy the above text to your blog, leaving all links in tact, and add in who tagged you.

Add your ‘real mom’ contribution to the list.

Tag as many moms as you can.

And meme-ify!

i’m tagging:

smellster who just had a baby and probably won’t do it and i don’t blame her, but i’m still tagging.
mandy who should be receiving a package from me any day now.
nat who i miss
heather who i just found was out here and is having a third baby.
mrs. pudding ’cause i think she’s funny

and adding links to your blogroll is easy. on your dashboard click the ‘write’ button. then click the ‘link’ tab underneath. and add to your blogroll like that.
